David & Teresa Fittro Missionaries to England
David and Teresa Fittro became affiliated with Christian Missionary Fellowship in December 1989 and joined the Great Britain Field Team. From October 1991 through February 1992, the Fittros served in Northampton, England as furlough replacements for a CMF team family. This opportunity affirmed their calling and match for this position. David and Teresa arrived in England in December 1992 to begin their ministry. They moved to Northampton to help with planting a church in that city. They spend much of their time building relationships in the community. Of the estimated 25,000 people living in their housing estate, 96% have no relationship with Christ and no church home. With teammates, the Fittros began new Sunday evening Celebration services. At their first service, September 1993, 78 people attended! As the year closed, they averaged 61 in attendance, with 90 at Christmas and a high of 103 a few weeks earlier. They are now averaging about 65-70 people in these evening Celebration services. The welcoming, unthreatening atmosphere has attracted many unchurched people as well as other Christians from the area. What they see now is the desire to not only be an event but to make the transformation into a CHURCH. Send E-mail to the Fittro Family David & Teresa Fittro |
